The Progress Edit is a business name used by Jake Cottrell, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. It is not a limited company, so there is no company number and no registered office. Correspondence address: 5 Portiswood Close, Tadley, RG26 3UQ, United Kingdom.

Personal-use licence for one intended user

One purchase covers one intended CV owner. The adult buyer may use the kit for their own applications, or buy it for one other person such as their child — but not both from the same purchase. This is not a team, school-wide, cohort, business or organisational licence.

In practice: an adult can buy the kit for their own job search, or buy it for one other person such as their child. What is not permitted is one purchase being used by both the buyer and someone else, or by more than one person in turn. Each additional intended user needs their own purchase.

If you buy the kit for someone else, you may give the kit files to that one intended user and help them complete and edit the kit for their own applications. That single intended user may create, save, print and submit as many personalised CV and cover-letter versions as they need for their own job applications.

You may not share the kit with any additional user, resell it, redistribute it, upload it publicly, repackage it, or use it to provide services to multiple clients.

The licence is non-exclusive and, once the intended user has been designated and the kit has first been used, non-transferable.

The person placing the order must be aged 18 or over. The one intended user the kit is bought for may be under 18 — for example a parent or carer buying it for their child.

You may

  • Use the kit for the applications of the one intended user covered by the purchase
  • If you bought the kit for someone else, give the kit files to that single intended user and help them complete and edit it for their own applications
  • Create, save, print and submit as many personalised CV and cover-letter versions as that intended user needs for their own job applications
  • Edit wording, structure, layout, fonts and colours in the editable files as much as you like
  • Send the completed, personalised CV or cover letter to employers, recruiters and application portals in DOCX or PDF
  • Keep the files you have saved — there is no subscription, and your licence to use them does not expire

You may not

  • Share the kit with any additional user beyond the one intended user covered by the purchase
  • Use one purchase for both the buyer and someone else, or for more than one intended user in turn
  • Resell, sub-licence, give away or redistribute the source files, edited or unedited, to anyone other than the single intended user
  • Upload or publish the kit on a website, shared drive, social platform or library that others can access
  • Repackage the contents into another product, course or service
  • Use the kit to provide a CV-writing, coaching or template service to multiple clients

What may leave the intended user's hands

The blank and source kit files are for the one intended user only. If you bought the kit for someone else, you may give those files to that single intended user and help them complete the kit; they must not go to anyone else, be uploaded publicly or be passed on. The completed, personalised CV or cover letter that the intended user creates from them may be sent to employers, recruiters and application portals in DOCX or PDF.
